The Files view offers a clean interface for organizing, locating, and managing your stored objects.
Category folders
Section titled “Category folders”Category filters are displayed across the top of the Files view:
- Photos and videos: storage for images, photos, video clips, and media archives.
- Documents: folder for text files, spreadsheets, presentations, and PDF documents.
- ChatGPT conversations: folder for imported chat transcripts and dialogue exports.
- Codex sessions: directory for source code, software scripts, session logs, and technical notes.
The Show More button displays additional categories when corresponding files exist in your account. Arbitrary folder creation is not supported: items group automatically according to file characteristics.
Downloading files
Section titled “Downloading files”To download a file, click the download icon next to the object in the file table:
- The server generates an encrypted temporary link with a short expiration window.
- The browser downloads the binary payload via this signed link.
- Once the expiration timestamp elapses, the link is automatically invalidated.
Deleting files
Section titled “Deleting files”Removing unneeded files restores available storage capacity:
- Click the delete icon next to the selected item.
- Confirm the action in the confirmation prompt.
- The file is soft-deleted, and storage capacity updates immediately.
The system does not maintain an intermediate trash bin: deletion immediately frees storage quota.
Searching files
Section titled “Searching files”The search bar at the top of the file view provides fast search:
- Search filters results in real time as characters are typed.
- Matching checks for substrings within the file name.
- Substring matching is case-insensitive.
